Q.  How often should my cedar siding and trim be re-painted?

A.  A good, complete exterior painting job should last 5 - 6 years depending upon the climate your home is exposed to.  Full sun will cause fading and drying, and moisture will cause mold and moisture.

Q.  What should I look for to determine if my exterior needs re-painted?

A.  Here's some common indicators:
- The color looks faded and/or is peeling
- The knotholes in the wood are separated and may have a black-greenish discoloration (mildew)
- There is separation around the trim on doors and windows
- Nails are popping out from the siding

Q.  What will happen If I wait too long to re-paint my exterior?

A.  If left too long the wood will rot and the only thing you can do then is have the rotted pieces replaced, caulked and painted.

Q.  How should we take care of our wooden deck?

A.  Wooden decks will over time fade, dry out and attract mold and mildew.  A good cleaning and refinishing will protect it and bring it back to life.

Q.  How often should I re-paint the inside of our house?

A.  Right now!  I'm just kidding.  A good interior paint job should last 2 - 3 years depending upon the quality and type of paint used and the care given to it.  Changing or re-painting your walls greatly improves the look and feel of any room in your home.
