My wife Peggy, and I had the wonderful opportunity to be volunteers on the Hassal Family home in Berry, KY for ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition that aired on April 16, 2006. It was an experience we will never forget.
Here's the letter we received from the family: Dear Eads Painting & Staining, Our family appreciates all your hard work and sacrafice. The rain, mud and muck could have easily dampened your resolve. However, your steadfast determination allowed you to reach a seemingly impossible goal. Thank you. The changes in our home life only began with the house. You have made it possible for the entire family to be in the same area for a limitless amount of time. Thank you. However, you may not be aware of the personal changes you have brought about. You have given my son, Sam, a voice. Before the "extreme" gift, he would rarely speak more than 3 sentences. While we were at Disney World, he started talking and hasn't stopped! God is good. He brought you into our lives to build a house, but, more importantly, He brought you into our lives to rebuild our family. The most important "thank you" we can ever send your way are the prayers we lift up daily in honor of you. Blessings on You and Your Family The Hassells |
